                Our Story

Our Story

On acquiring our Gilroy property in July of 2018, Mandy and I were met with a steep learning curve in wine making.  Our prior experience was in tasting, not making, wine. In the months leading up to the purchase of the vineyard, we took several winery tours to study the art and science of wine making and to help us better appreciate what we were getting ourselves into. Boy are we glad we spent some time learning about what goes on behind the scenes.

After meeting with and receiving help from several of the local Gilroy wine makers, we set out to make our first 2018 vintage wines.  The vineyard is approximately 1.3 acres and consists of Syrah, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.  Lots of research and hard work went into our first vintage. This being our first season, we’ve made  a few mistakes too.  However, we’ve absolutely enjoyed the learning process.

Unfortunately, there’ll be no Chardonnay for 2018 as the deer and other critters got to it before we had a chance.  Nevertheless, all the reds started their oak aging in January 2019 and are showing some promise.  We've even found a nice blend to enhance the Cabernet Sauvignon.

Thank you for stopping by, and remember: When life gives you grapes, make wine!

Cheers!
